Salcombe will this week unveil its new pontoons with a very special celebration.
The picturesque South Hams town will celebrate the official opening of the new Coad Cove Residents' pontoons on Tuesday.
The new moorings, which were installed during the winter, are located in Coad Cove between Black Knob and Tosnos Points.
They will serve the boating needs of about 60 residents.
Chairman of the Salcombe Harbour Board, South Hams councillor Julian Brazil told the Western Morning News: "The new orientation makes mooring boats much easier, even when the tide is flowing at high speed.
"The recycled non-slip plastic decks have also been well received."
He added: "These pontoons are one of the most prestigious projects completed this winter.
"We have also commissioned a pontoon alongside the slipway at Batson to improve safety and access to the water, refurbished many of the pontoons within Salcombe, commissioned a new water taxi as well as completing all the routine maintenance to the moorings.
"The harbour team has had an extremely busy and productive winter and is ready for the busy 2008 season ahead."
