The annual fishing contest between Salcombe and District Sea Anglers Association and Kingsbridge and District Sea Anglers Association was held on Sunday 15 June.

The weather was kind which ensured that many members turned out and a larger than normal amount of fish of various species was caught.

Kingsbridge won the shield with a score of 803.5 per cent against Salcombe's 660.1 per cent.

The winner of the individual prize, The Bets Memorial Cup, was Andrew Lidstone with a Bull Huss of 13lbs, 14ozs.

After the weigh-in, both teams enjoyed a delicious meal and the odd drink at the Kings Arms in Salcombe.
